Cardiff Avenue Residence 1,800 SF Beverlywood, CA Interior Design by JUDITH CRANE Interior Design
This traditional syle home built in 1948 required a design update to accomodate the needs of the modern family homeowners. The project work included updating two bathrooms. Challenges for the master bathroom design included maintining a small galley footprint while increasing the feeling of spaciousness in the bath. This was accomplished through the use of a simple large scale porcelain tile on the floors and walls with the shower enclosed partially with a low, semi-circular wall clad in glass tile. Fixtures were selected for their minimalist appearance and appropriate scale. The second bath design involved a new layout that permitted the maximum use of natural light and allowed for a more efficient floor plan. Other improvements to the home included new custom closet doors and new custom cabinetry in baths and hallways. New furniture for the family room and master bedroom was selected.
